About
The Haruka Ticket, offered by JR-WEST (WEST JAPAN RAILWAY COMPANY), is a point to point ticket aboard the Haruka limited express train between Kansai Airport station and Kyoto station, currently only sold in conjunction with a Japan Airlines (JL) flight. From Kansai-airport Station, it takes approximately 75 minutes to Kyoto. Sixty trains (30 round-trips) run every day.

Check-in
One pick up number will be generated per direction. This means that, for a return journey, the traveler will receive two pick up numbers. As instructed during the booking process, the passenger can only check-in on check-in.accesrail.com within 72 hours of their travel date.
The passenger will enter his/her first and last name and one of the following information:
- Airline electronic ticket number (13 digit)
- Airline PNR locator

Passenger visits check-in.accesrail.com within 72 hours prior to departure.

Passenger enters his/her first and last name and one of the following: PNR Locator or; e-ticket number.

Passenger prints the travel document, which is required for boarding.

Period of Validity
- Valid for travel on the specific date and time printed on the ticket.
Groups
- No group bookings allowed. Up to 99 passengers with unique names can be issued on the same PNR.
Baggage policy
There is space to store luggage on the train. Travelers bring their own luggage on the train and must be able to handle their own luggage without assistance.
Airport Transfers
How to commute between airport terminals and train stations:
From Kansai Airport:
- The JR-WEST train station is located within the Kansai Airport Terminal 1 Building.
- Passengers are asked to make their way to the JR ticket gate and head to platform 4. The Haruka train will bring them to Kyoto Station.
- Passengers may not use this product to take the Haruka train to other cities such as Osaka, Kobe or Nara. Click here to view the map.
From Kyoto Station:
- At Kyoto Station, passengers can go through the Central Gate or the West Gate. The Haruka train departs from platform 30. Click here to view the map.
WEST JAPAN RAILWAY COMPANY CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE
The Haruka ticket is only valid for the passenger whose name is displayed on the ticket. The Haruka ticket is only valid for regular, unreserved seating on the Haruka train between Kansai International Airport and Kyoto Station. The Haruka ticket is only valid for the segment and direction displayed on the ticket. Passengers may not disembark before their intended destination. Doing so invalidates the ticket. Passengers may not transfer to other trains using this ticket. If passengers sit in reserved seating or in the green car, they will be subject to an additional charge. If customers take the Kansai Airport Express rapid train, the difference will not be refunded. The valid period cannot be changed. If the passenger loses his or her ticket, it cannot be replaced. If the connecting flight is significantly delayed and passenger is unable to ride the Haruka train on the intended day, the Haruka ticket will be valid on the following day. If the passenger is unable to ride the Haruka train due to delays or stoppage at WEST JAPAN RAILWAY COMPANY, they should obtain proof from JR ticket gate staff or JR ticket office at Kansai International Airport or Kyoto Station, and request a refund from the issuing travel agent. Passengers must bring photo identification and present it to the station staff if asked.
